| WiFi not working on TC1000 Hi, I'm trying to get the wireless network working on a Compaq TC1000. The green light is flashing, There's a strong signal in the area (according to other laptops), If I run the Compaq diagnostics all test are OK, and the WiFi device has even picked up the correct DNS suffix. I have no adaptors set to "Bridge" But...with I click to "View Available Wireless Networks" the dialog is greyed-out, including the Advanced button. Can anyone help please? thank you jonph |

| Re: WiFi not working on TC1000 Jon, have you perhaps tweaked anything in your Services section? Take a look in Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services, and way down at the bottom, make sure Wireless Zero Configuration is turned on and running. Then go to Network Connections and right-click the icon representing your LAN connection, and select Properties. Go to the Wireless Networks tab, and make sure there is a check mark in Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings. OK your way out, and restart your machine. -- Chris H. | Re: WiFi not working on TC1000 Hi Jonph, I had the same problem with one of the TC1100's that I had here. The problem turned out to be an outdated driver and was solved by updating it. Check the HP site for an updated driver and see if it resolves your problem. http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/fi...e/97_5840.html Linda A. | Re: WiFi not working on TC1000 I also had the same problem. After downloading the revised driver I had to download and reinstall the Q-Menu as well. After that all worked fine I also recently had the same problem on a Panasonic Toughbook CF-18. Also had to re-install the driver vs the one that came on the recovery CD. One thing of note is that you need to register with Panasonic via their site to gain access to their drivers, else you get errors when you try and download Regards Robin "Linda A.
