Creating and using a image as delpoyment method. see following article for details on deployment methods: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../tpcdploy.mspx BTW, I was told that it works great using Automated Deployment Services. But check the license agreements before, since ADS is only supported for Windows Server deployments. > 2. Training the Enduser that's really necessary. Otherwise a lot of your users wouldn't benefit from using Tablet PCs instead of Notebooks. Do you deploy Office 2003, too? It depends on your environment on how you do the training. It there are a lot of branch offices, etc. you may consider LiveMeeting or a similar service to train your users remotely. But a live training would be more helpful when speaking of Tablet PC, I guess. > 3. Remote Management (via dialup) It depends on your requirements. What do you want to manage? For help desk services you could use Windows XP remote assistance. > 4. Having an enduser not a local administrator ? | Re: Deploying over 70 Tablets - Anyone else done this. 4) If I understand correctly your Tablet PC users will be just users on the Tablet and not a local admin? Well that is good isn't it? They won't be able to install software or do anything seriously wrong on it. You can set GPO to allow them certain thing. Being able to setup a dial-up or change network connection settings might be a good thing in some cases. This is especially true if they are away from the office for a long time and working in another network. Whatever your setup will be GPO will come to the rescue in most cases. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] www.howto-outlook.com Tips of the month: -Backup and Restore -Create an Office XP CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 3 ----- "Thomas Wenzl [MVP]" <twenzl@web.de> wrote in message news:2jvmh6F1237dtU1@uni-berlin.de... > Hello Mark, > > Mark 7794 wrote: >> I have a project coming in which we are going to delpoy 70+ Tablets. >> >> I am looking for an tip or traps if you have done similar especially >> with >> 1. | Re: Deploying over 70 Tablets - Anyone else done this. Mark, If you want to talk more specifically about training end-users, that is my specialty (in several technologies including the Tablet PC). See http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books Let me know if you want to talk more and we can exchange contact information.
