I just bought an HP tx1000 tablet pc. I've seen another vendor using an HP
with ink software that looks like a legal pad. You can even turn the pages of
the pad.
Does anybody know where to get this type of SW or seen it anywhere.

Assuming you have already tried journal, look at it's options... you
should be able to set the page color to match his legal pad.

The page turner is at the bottom right.

if the laptop you purchased is running the tablet os, journal should be
preinstalled... does it have a stylus and does it work?

Windows Journal was a "project" on the original Tablet PC Edition to show an
application with capabilities for the pen. It has not evolved much since
the first version, but is still a handy tool for quick notes.

OneNote is an excellent program. They have their own support newsgroup -
microsoft.public.onenote - if you have questions.
