Control and Left Mouse Click Opens another Internet Explorer windo

I have a tablet PC running XP Tablet PC Edition. When I hold down the CONTROL key and tap the pen on an internet explorer window, a new window of internet explorer opens. It also does this when I hold down the Control Key and left click in an Internet Explorer window, a new Internet Explorer Window opens. How do I disable this feature?! This is very disruptive to a web application I have that requires a combination of Control key and left mouse click. I need to know how to disable this feature. Please let me know and thanks in advance.

Wow - all this time with tablets, and I never noticed this behavior -
never tried to control click. I can duplicate it on my Toshiba, but
not on any other XP Pro machine. And my install is my own clean
install, not the Toshiba image, so normally I'm immune to weird things
like this. Have to track it down to see if I can narrow it to one
particular thing.

I'm back at good old SP1 version, not having installed SP2 since my
most recent rebuild yesterday. Are you running the SP2 beta, or are
you also on SP1?

John

Found it. Happened with both SP2 and SP2, so I went and deleted all
registry entries in the run, as well as using msconfig to kill
everything I could find.

Restarted, and it didn't do it. I launched each thing individually
and tried the control click in IE until I found the one that makes it
happen.

In your registry, do you have an entry for rundll32?
Mine specifically runs the following:

rundll32 nview.dll,nViewLoadHook

When I ran this, the problem came back.

That's for the Nvidia desktop manager.

Playing with options to see if there's a setting to do to allow it to
run without causing this problem.

Running msconfig and unchecking the entries for the nview entry and
nvcpldaemon if you have it should alleviate the problem. You'll lose
the nview features you can get by right clicking the task bar but
everything else still works great.

Re: Control and Left Mouse Click Opens another Internet Explorer w

I am running SP1 on this tablet. I have also tried the control click or tap on an HP tablet PC running XP Tablet PC Edition, and it also opens a new window. I would like to know how to disable this feature. Thanks for your help.

Thanks. I really appreciate that. I will give it a shot.
