| Journal Search I am having trouble using the search of handwriting in Journal. If I search for a word within the current note open it will recognize all occurances of that word within my handwriting in that note. If I try to do the same search across all note files in MyNotes, it will not find any occurances. |

Are you saving your journal files in the default location? When you do the edit/find, and put in the test in the "look for" dialog box, what are you doing for the "look in" box? Are you just using "recent folders" or are you browsing and selecting a folder specifically? If you didn't specify the folder, what happens if you explicitly specify the "my notes" directory? Have you tried it with no journal file open? Just the program running, but no note opened in it? Does it work then? John |

| Re: Journal Search John - I am saving my journal files in the default "My Notes" folder under "My Documents". I have tried searching specifically in "My Notes" as well as selecting "All recently used folders". I have tried searching with no file open and with a file open. If I search for a word that I see in the current note and it will find it. I can then close that file and search for the same word across all files and it will tell me "No matching notes were found." I appreciate your assistance. | Re: Journal Search And they're still in inked form, not converted to text? What's odd is that if it can recognize the handwriting to find it in a currently opened file, you'd expect it to recognize it as well for searching through unopened documents. Is this all looking for one particular word, or have you tested it with other words, common ones like "and" and such? Trying to duplicate the problem here without success so far, but still trying things. | Re: Journal Search Yeah, they're still in ink. I have tried just about every combination of word to search for. No problem recognizing search terms in the current open note, but it won't find them when searching through unopened files. Very strange... I guess I could try reinstalling Journal. I just thought I would check first to see if it was a known issue. I searched the threads on this forum and didn't see any previous discussion like this. | Re: Journal Search Yeah, it's not one I've come across before, and I can't duplicate it. Let us know if you get it resolved so we can put the resolution in the list for the next person who hits it - might be able to save them the trouble you're already going through. :) John On Wed, 23 Jun 2004 11:42:02 -0700, "Patrick Grainger" <xp.5.graing_p@spamgourmet.com> wrote: >Yeah, they're still in ink.
