| desktop pc plus intuos2 = tabletpc? hi, i have installed win xp tabletpc edition on my (standard) desktop computer (cd from msdn). this computer has a wacom intuos2-tablet attached via usb. after i installed the intuos2-drivers, i could use the pen; no problem. everything seems to work fine (handwriting recognition). -but- as i see it, the intuos2 is not really a tabletpc-compatible (penabled?) input device, because the "write everywhere" feature tells me that it hasn't found any pen-hardware. i installed xpsp2 to see if that would help, but no luck. on the wacom support site, i found that it is supposed to work when you have a cintiq together with an intuos, but i haven't found information about intuos alone. mailing support didn't help either... is there anyone who is using such configuration? any hints are very welcome... thanks franz |

| Re: desktop pc plus intuos2 = tabletpc? Since I've got a Tablet PC, and not a developer, I haven't installed on a desktop, Franz. However, there are known limitations to the "ink" produced on that type of installation because there are no digitizers installation on the normal desktop. Your handwriting (ink) sampling is going to be an incomplete experience because a writing pad samples at the same rate as your normal mouse, whereas the Tablet PC digitizers sample at more than triple the mouse rate. -- Chris H. | Re: desktop pc plus intuos2 = tabletpc? Franz, I believe there is a PEN-nabled driver available on the wacom website. This is not the normal Intous2 driver. Go to this URL http://www.wacom.com/tabletpc/driver.cfm There is a small FAQ at the bottom of the page that talks about running the TabletPC version of windows on a desktop with a Wacom external tablet. Make sure you read that. You will also have to install the most recent TabletPC sdk as well. Hope this helps. john Chris H. wrote: > Since I've got a Tablet PC, and not a developer, I haven't installed on a > desktop, Franz.
