That computer may not have pen capabilities... the "home" is a clue,
since, as far as I know, tablets don't ship with that version.

Suggest contacting HP and ask them as some models were advertised as
"tablet" but either didn't have pen capabilities or they are extra cost
options.

Re: activating touch pointer

I would contact HP's Support Section for a definitive answer. Some units
come with the Tablet functionalities installed, but no recognizer hardware
to enable them. Check with HP.

Re: activating touch pointer

No. the problem is not hardware, the pen and screen and all work fine. My
problem is to hover the mouse without clicking whole intablet mode. Vista
should come with a pouch pointer option, a virtual onscreen mouse. I just
need that.

Re: activating touch pointer

You won't see the touch pointer on machines whose digitizers do not present
themselves as touch-enabled.

The HP 1000 digitizer actually presents itself as a mouse, so what you're
seeing is "by design"

Re: activating touch pointer

And "by design" of the manufacturer, it might be pointed out. Their choice
of how they handle the situation.

Re: activating touch pointer

Unfortunately, the solution source would be the manufacturer of your "Tablet
PC." There are laws against taking someone else's software, breaking it
apart, and rewriting it to do something else without authorization. Best
thing to do would be to voice your displeasure with the manufacturer,
politely, and ask to speak with a supervisor, etc., on up the line.
