| Electrovaya support Anyone had any real experiences with Electrovaya support? My EV 2010 has a crack in the glass after only 4 months of use. I picked her up yesterday, started writing on her, and the glass in the lower right hand corner cracked. Called tech support and talked to Jay. Jay started telling me this has never happened to one of their units before and that they weren't going to cover it. Not a great way to start off a tech support relationship. Jay tells me I have to talk to customer service about an RMA, send the unit in and they'll let me know what it's going to cost. He also tells me it will be about 4 working days. I can live with 4 working days on a repair. These are the issues that make or break a vendors rep. The tablet wasn't dropped and nothing fell on it and I will be expecting EV to replace the glass at their expense. It isn't like the screen itself is broken. How much can a piece of glass cost? I'll keep y'all posted. Hopefully the matter will be taken care of quickly and correctly and this won't be a long saga. I'll let y'all know. |

| Re: Electrovaya support Tell Jay that Josh Einstein (he should know me cause I've been bugging him for days now about a new order) says that LCD's *do* crack without any physical force. It's happened to two of mine and that's why I am buying a new one because it just happened to my Acer and it's not under warranty. I'd be interested to see how your situation works out. Since this has so far happened to two of my tablets (both LCD's manufactured by Toshiba which had me suspiscious) I would be pretty upset if it happens to my Electrovaya as well. The problem is, no one will believe you that it just happened. No one ever believes me. But it DOES! Both times it happened to me, my unit was on standby overnight. -- Josh Einstein Einstein Technologies -------------------------------------------------------- Add ink input to Outlook with Tablet Enhancements for Outlook! | Re: Electrovaya support No I did not. The unit was out of warranty so I completely understand that there was nothing Acer could do about it. I didn't like doing it, but I had to buy a new one. :) However, the Scribbler Tablet PC is amazing. I'm so glad I chose it. -- Josh Einstein Einstein Technologies -------------------------------------------------------- Add ink input to Outlook with Tablet Enhancements for Outlook!
