Connecting my tablet to the wireless home network

Hi all,

I got the following specification:
* Wireless Level1 router
* LG TabletPC Wireless with Windows XP TabletPC edition

I am trying to connect to the lan and wan with my tabletpc and for
somereason I seems to miss something with my tries.

I do not know whether it is a standard application -- but -- I got a IP
Operation application where I define the Security key and the network I would
like to connect to. It recognizes the network and succeeds with enabling the
key over it.

My problem is that when it gets to the stage where it suppose to change the
ip and connect to the network it get halted, and seems to do the procedure of
searching for an ip for the machine all over again and again.

The hint under the wireless network status sais the following:
Wireless Network Connection (MyNetwork)
Speed: 54.0 Mps
Signal Strength: Excellent
Status: Acquiring network address

The "Acquiring network address" never stopps, and the icon gets its circle
running horizontal on the bottom of the wireless network icon.

What should I configure in order to solve that problem?

Re: Connecting my tablet to the wireless home network

I don't think network stuff is any different for Windows XP TabletPC edition
than for other versions of Windows.

Re: Connecting my tablet to the wireless home network

Try going into the Properties of the icon representing your Local Area
Network in Network Connections. Go to the Wireless Networks tab, and verify
that there is a check mark in "Use Windows to configure my wireless network
settings." If there isn't one, place it there.

If there was not a check mark as described above, you may need to restart
your computer. Otherwise go into the Preferred Networks section on the same
tab, and highlight the network name of your connection with a single tap.
Tap the Properties button at the bottom of the little window containing your
LAN name.

Next you will get another screen with three tabs on it, so select the
Authentication tab. Remove the check mark from "Enable IEEE 802.1x
authentication for this network." OK your way out of eveything and close
the Network Connections screen. Restart your computer and see if it doesn't
work properly.
