Ghost Image

I have a Vaio VGN UX50 with Tablet. I guess that computer is about 2 years
old and ready to be a hand-me-down to my granddaughter. I just purchased the
Vaio VGN UX380N, which is basically the same machine other than drive size
and an added internet connection through cingular built in.

My question is this. Do you think if I made a Ghost image of the older
machine, I could restore it to the new one ?? Reason being, the new one
comes with Vista .. UGH ..

Re: Ghost Image

No, that wouldn't work. The older unit's software is license only to that
unit, and is prepared with drivers, etc., which are unique to that model.
Give Vista a try. You'll find after a bit that it is very good, the
handwriting is better and the Tablet functionalities are seamless.

Because of the current state of vista, most vendors I have looked at
over the past few months offer XP in place of Vista on new machines even
thought that may not be obvious at first glance... even since you
already have it, I would ask the vendor if you have the option to
downgrade. Assume you still have the option to return at this point.
