| Re: Using Office 2003 with pen What does "it failed to operate" mean. Are you saying the download didn't install properly or that the functionality isn't there? | Re: Using Office 2003 with pen Office 2003 doesn't really need anything to work with a tablet. The improved recognition download that you got just applies some context sensitivity to certain text fields for using the TIP more accurately. But Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (as well as some other apps like Visio) have built in support for using the pen. | Re: Using Office 2003 with pen I have just recieved a new batch of 4 tablet PC's by Gateway in at my business, we have about 12-15 already, on this new batch, when we open the Tablet input panel while in word 2003 or 2007, we handwrite in what we want, click on the convert button which shows the hand writting converted into regular text, than we click the "input" button and the text should be passed into Word 2003, but it is not, nothing happens when we click the "insert" button. This works on all of our other tablet PC's but this new batch of 4 it does not work? any ideas? "Josh Einstein" wrote: > Office 2003 doesn't really need anything to work with a tablet. | Re: Using Office 2003 with pen Hm, it sounds like Text Services Framework (TSF) is malfunctioning. That would likely affect speech recognition as well. Windows XP I assume? I don't have a XP machine handy but there is a setting in regional and language options somewhere that has a checkbox for "Extend support of advanced text service to all programs" Is this checked? If not, try checking it. I'm just grabbing at straws though. -- Josh Einstein (Tablet PC MVP) Einstein Technologies Tablet Enhancements for Outlook - Try it free: www.tabletoutlook.com "Andy Shannon" <Andy Shannon@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:044AE4BA-2455-40EF-84D9-F0738537C91D@microsoft.com... >I have just recieved a new batch of 4 tablet PC's by Gateway in at my > business, we have about 12-15 already, on this new batch, when we open the > Tablet input panel while in word 2003 or 2007, we handwrite in what we > want, > click on the convert button which shows the hand writting converted into > regular text, than we click the "input" button and the text should be > passed > into Word 2003, but it is not, nothing happens when we click the "insert" > button. | RE: Using Office 2003 with pen Brother Yo beat me to it.... I had the same problem... This is a Gateway fix, and several people have said it only applies to Gateways, but they use the same combination of hardware/drivers as others... Andy Shannon: Definitely do this... I know this fixes exactly the problem you're having... -- Jim K Scribbling more and better every day!
