What software to get? Need recommendations

Just bought a fujitsu tablet-pc with vista. I also bought onenote.

If you had a bunch of money, what would you buy, and for what purpose, in
terms of software and perhaps in terms of hardware?

Best regards

Mattias

I presume you mean things that are Tablet specific rather than just
"What software/hardware would I really like"

My top few are

Memory - get lots of memory. These things are useless with less than
1GB.

A BIG external hard drive. Get a NAS type so that you can leave it
attached to the Wireless Router (you do have one of those don't you) and
access it while sitting in the easy chair.

PDF Annotator http://www.GRAHL-software.com
Allows you to use the pen to highlight and annotate PDF files. Costs
money, but is probably the tool I use most. It works best if you install
the freeware Ghostscript renderer http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/

MaxiVista Pro http://www.maxivista.com/ to allow me to use the tablet as
a secondary display on the desktop.

Mindmanager http://www.mindjet.com/uk/
Mind mapping software that is designed to use a pen. It has specific pen
functions that work very well. EXPENSIVE.

Curious if this is necessary under vista as it was fairly
straightforward to set up an extended desktop on my fuji using the intel
video utility in control panel (almost impossible to do so with the
windows desktop property dialogs)

Beverly,

I suspect we are at cross purposes. I think you are thinking of adding a
second (dumb) display to a tablet.

Maxivista is not simply attaching a second display to the tablet for use
on the desktop, it is actually utilizing the tablet as a second display
attached to my big desktop (W2K) machine.

Using Maxivista I can set up the tablet on its stand alongside the main
display, and either use it just as if it were an extended desktop and
drag windows across, or remotely control it (run programs using its CPU
and memory) from the desktop simply by sliding the mouse across and
issuing commands. The only connection is the LAN (and it will work with
wireless).

No idea, but at $149 for a single copy plus $49/year for maintenance vs.
$49.99 (and so far free updates until the next major version release)
for PDF Annotator it had better be!

As always, it's always perspective... my tablet is far more powerful
that my desktop ;-)

In my case, the extended desktop is nice for being able to put a process
window on the laptop screen (screen 2) then use the ksu to switch back
to the desktop so I can watch a long process while I am working on
another machine.

Thanks for the clarification,
