Does anyone knows how to enable the SD slot on a TC1100 running Vista
installed fresh, not n upgrade from XP?

Does it appear as a disabled or unidentified device in device manager? If so
you'll need to get drivers for it, which hopefully are available via Windows
Update.

Otherwise, if the device looks ok but there is no drive (which sometimes
happens if Windows gets confused picking a drive letter) you can try right
clicking Computer from the start menu, click Manage, then click on Disk
Management, find the SD slot device and right click -> change drive letter.
