Pen Tip Toshiba 3505

Dumb question, I know. My 3505 shipped with a few extra tips for the pen. How do you change the tip? Yank it out with pliers seems a bit rough...

RE: Pen Tip Toshiba 3505

When you received your pen, it was packed in a small white box with the pen, replacement nubs and a metal band that looks like a ring. This band is actually the tool to remove the nub from the pen. You pinch the end of the nub and pull straight out. It comes out rather easily.

The replacement numb pops right into place also. No tool needed.

This may be an odd (or obvious) question, but what do the pen tips do?
On my Motion (and I assume on all tablets), the pen won't "work"
without the tip. Is there some interaction between the tip and the
pen itself that activates the digitizer?

Although the tip doesn't move very much when you press it against the
screen, it does move slightly. This moves a super tiny coil inside the
pen and changes the way that coil reacts to the electromagnetic waves
sent out by the screen. The screen can sense this and thus knows that the
pen is actually pressed down rather than just barely touching the screen.

I may be slightly off in my exact details but the principle is still the
same. See www.wacom.com for more information.
