| Dragon Naturally Speaking Sorry, this is a multi part question. I have an HP tx1000 laptop/tablet. Running an AMD 2.2 GHz, 2 Gig's RAM, and Vista Home Prem 32-bit. I installed Dragon Speak and wouldn't run without it. However, I noticed some things. 1st, when my BIOS power setting is set to battery savings, and I'm unplugged, the CPU is cut to crap. And when I set it to performance, the battery life is cut by ~ 2 hours. The Dragon diff is about 30 - 40 words per minute slower! Why can't someone get the [AMD PowerNow!] to work in Vista? * or is that an issue with HP (who won't field this question). The second part of the question is about my 4 gig express card. I could either run it for ReadyBoost or use it to install DNS. for ReadyBoost, it's a 4 gig card and my machine has 2 gigs RAM. I've come across threads suggesting anywhere between a 4% and 14% with a similar set up. But I'm assuming that's based on boot time / load time for programs. If I used it as an additional HDD, then I'd a) free up the I/O bottleneck, and there is a potential for DNS to use it's dictionary faster ~ thus work faster. I guess the ultimate question here is, ReadyBoost or load DNS to the express card? Anyone have a solid understanding of which would be better and why? |
