Input panel keyboard changes when I use the pen

When I start the computer and click the on input panel tab with mouse I get
the full keyboard with function keys, page up, page down, home, end etc.
However if I click on tab with pen I get keyboard with letters and numbers
but without any of above mentioned keys. After this even clicking by mouse
does not restore full on screen keyboard.

I would like to have full keyboard even when using a pen - in fact
especially when using a pen :) I could not find the way to solve this, I
would appreciate your help.

I am using Windows Vista Bussines Edition on LG C1 Dual Express. Version of
the Tablet PC Input panel is 6.0.6000.

Thanks,
Sasha

I don't think I am going to have an answer for you, but...

....need you to clarify the "where" of the above...

i.e. exactly what keyboard is "up" how did you get it up and, if the
taskbar icon keyboard, which of the "buttons" is pressed (handwriting,
character, keyboard, etc) and exactly what "tab" refers to... the tab on
the alpha numeric keyboard or on the character screen.

>> After this even clicking by mouse does not restore full on screen

keyboard. <<

Can you clarify what is being clicked?

Do you have any other software or utilities running that might alter the
keyboard responses... macro programs, mouse/keyboard extenders, etc?

All additional info will help others respond.

Re: Input panel keyboard changes when I use the pen

Hi Beverly,

Thank you for the prompt reply.

A picture is Worth a thousand words so instead of explaining how keyboard
changes I have uploaded the pictures:

Full initial keyboard: (1)

Keyboard that I get using the pen: (2)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/3988757...n/photostream/

"Tab" I am talking about is on the left side of picture 2 with mouse pointer
over it. So when the system is restarted and when I use mouse to click on the
"tab" I get keyboard from picture 1. When I do the same with pen I get
keyboard from picture 2.

Not that I am aware of. When I check the "about" dialog on both keyboards it
shows that it is same software. Killing TabTip.exe process will result in
keyboard 1, but again only if I use mouse. As soon as I use pen it changes to
2, and never comes back to 1.

Annoying isn't it? :)

Best,
Sasa .

Re: Input panel keyboard changes when I use the pen

thanks for the images... still confusing...

the _second_ image (the one without the windows properties dialogue) is
the "login" keyboard... which makes me think that you may be having
issues with your device's external button setup as on the Fuji, the
buttons have different definitions during login to allow a numeric
password entry plus tab functionality.

You mention "pen" which is confusing as both the pen and mouse should
function identically... so, at this point think your only option is to
go to your device's tech support.

While they may point you toward an os reload, I have some suspicions
that you may have some misunderstandings about the interface but your
messages don't have anything that helps confirm or deny that.

In addition, I don't have Vista so, can't really help as the vista pen
keyboard is significantly different than the xp keyboard.
