| Pencentra - help needed Hi Folks, I think I need some help.. ;-) I recently acquired a second-hand Fujitsu PenCentra130 running 'WindowsCE Handheld PC Professional Edition' but there was no software for my PC to facilitate synchronisation etc. I do have the Active Sync software from a Compaq PDA and the latest Microsoft Active sync upgrade but this does not want to talk to the Pencentra - perhaps not surprisingly. When I try and run Active sync with either the serial connection or an infra-red link I get a message telling me there is no partnership set up between the two machines. Reinstalling the old PDA software does not give the option of setting up a partnership. As far as I can tell I have both devices correctly set to use the appropriate connection method but they just will not communicate. I quickly run out of ideas and enthusiasm at this point..... I am not too concerned with synchronising 'office' data but I really would like to be able to upload applications to the tablet - mainly a mapping program to use with my GPS - and to download the resulting track and route data at some stage for storage and printing etc. Surely a simple file transfer mechanism would achieve this if the synchronisation remains a problem. Can anyone tell me what I need to run on the desktop PC to allow this to happen - I think it may be a variant of Windows CE - and where I would go to find this software. The desktop pc currently runs 2000. Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have. If they aren't useful then make sure they are amusing... ;-) JohnB |

| Re: Pencentra - help needed The PenCentra DOES use ActiveSync, though (I recently bought one as a stopgap measure to keep myself from irresponsibly putting a TabletPC on my credit card). It's possible he just needed to use PC Link first (hopefully they told him that on the CE group). ----- www.msmobiles.com wrote: ----- not all win ce devices support activesync though and he said that activesync didn't work for him, so why do you advise him to use it still? just to show that you are posting? |

| Re: Pencentra - help needed Thank you for your replies folks. I am synchronising now with the latest Activesync - since I repaired the serial cable..... I am about to buy a copy of Autoroute 2004 as it claims to be able to interface with a GPS on a pocket pc so I guess there are more problems to come!
