yeah, cool, but why OneNote is so expensive!!! for 100
bucks I would say: OK, but 500 bucks? oh, come on!!!

btw: why MS is not including it in the Tablet PC OS? it
is too bad...

Re: OneNote 2003 1.1

One Note is part of Office, not Windows, so unless an OEM includes it, it's
up to the buyer to select additional programs.

Tablet PC Edition comes with Journal.

No idea where you've heard $500, but that's no where near the retail price.

The full version is available for $99 after rebate.

$500? At compusa.com it's $199, with a $100 rebate. shopper.com has a
number of different prices available, some of which are admittedly from
stores I wouldn't wholly trust to be legitimate, but none seem to be
approaching $500.

Just as an FYI.

--------------

OneNote is meant for MORE than just Tablets, a majority of OneNote'ers are
not using it on a Tablet. Including with the OS? What? It's an
application, MS Office 2003 is not married with the XP OS. However, many
OEMs have chosen to BUNDLE it with Tablets, but including in the OS?
That's crazy.

And $500? Exactly what deep-space planet you on? OneNote is not within the
Office bundle.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...494570-4298556

http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/Microso...by=50&sort=asc

And Educational pricing levels it to under $50.

Re: OneNote 2003 1.1

You may wish to take a look at the microsoft.public.onenote newsgroup.
That's where OneNote information is, and there are accurate posts in there
regarding pricing and availability. The Microsoft OneNote team is involved
there on a daily basis.

Microsoft Updates OneNote

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...pcworld/115737

Oh wait, this is all so confusing, is the press reported "1.1" in fact
only SP1 Final? 1.1 as just SP1 wrongly named?

Re: OneNote 2003 1.1

Yes. 1.1 = SP1. But no real 1.1, just a press screw-up naming that threw
me off. :) OneNote 2003 SP1 is in line with rest of Office, June and XP
SP2 timeframe (and Dothan). Whew, early morning fun, all in the "rush to
post" and beat Peter. =)

Re: OneNote 2003 1.1

anyone know what the upgrade policy is? I would like to purchase this, but
do not want to since the new version is coming out soon. If I purchase this
version within a set # of days, will MS give me a free upgrade?

Hi, bob.

Service Packs are updates to the existing product, so it will be available
for download if you buy OneNote 2003 now.

Bob, you may want to post in the microsoft.public.onenote newsgroup.
Microsoft monitors that newsgroup quite closely.

According to the Toshiba web site
http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/...&seg=HHO&sel=1
it is bundled. Hopefully it was included in your order. You might check
it.
