| Newbie questions I am considering purchasing a tablet pc as a second unit as i like the idea however as i have not really had the opportunity to see one in practice i have a few queries. Being based on XP Pro, I am told that any app running on my desktop will also run on a tablet. What is the real user experience like for working with forms, textboxes, etc. Can you write in textboxes? Daft question, but do you have to write small or adjust display settings? I have read positive feedback about the acer 300 series - is the battery life really as good as claimed? Thanks in advance Ady |

| Re: Newbie questions Hi, Ady, Good choice on looking at a Tablet PC. As for the Acer, it's an excellent machine for the price and one of only 2 released brands that have a built-in optical drive. As for writing in boxes, the program has to be ink-enabled, but you can still write using the Tablet Input Panel and it will move to the boxes as text. -- Terri Stratton Microsoft Windows MVP / Tablet PC http://thetabletpc.net Expert Zone - http://microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/default.asp "Ady Easton" <ady_easton******.co.uk> wrote in message news:ae37b6af.0404181451.4c17cef9@posting.google.c om... > I am considering purchasing a tablet pc as a second unit as i like the > idea however as i have not really had the opportunity to see one in > practice i have a few queries. > > Being based on XP Pro, I am told that any app running on my desktop > will also run on a tablet. | RE: Newbie questions Hi, I have an Acer C301, it is awesome. Everything I run on my desktop, I am able to run on the tablet. Forms, textboxes are easy to use, you can adjust the font size. You can also, write in cursive, and then have the system turn it to text. The Acer also has voice recognition software, so you can actually dictate, and the system will type it for you. The battery life on my Acer averages about 5 hours, more or less depending on what I am running. The largest drain without AC connection is the wireless network card. I love the system. |

| Re: Newbie questions buy tablet pc ASAP! life is too short not to have a tablet pc (but must be with wi-fi and centrino to fully enjoy it) "Ady Easton" <ady_easton******.co.uk> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:ae37b6af.0404181451.4c17cef9@posting.google.c om... > I am considering purchasing a tablet pc as a second unit as i like the > idea however as i have not really had the opportunity to see one in > practice i have a few queries. > > Being based on XP Pro, I am told that any app running on my desktop > will also run on a tablet.
