| OneNote demo Activation through a Proxy I've seen several old posts on the OneNote board related to this issue but none seemed to offer a solution. I figured I'd try my post here as well... I downloaded the OneNote demo but cannot activate it through our Internet Connection proxy. The option to activate by telephone is greyed out in the demo version. Until I activate it, the limited functionality renders the software pretty much useless! Any suggestions? -Dave |

| Re: OneNote demo Activation through a Proxy The OneNote newsgroup would be the best source for an answer, Dave. Members of the OneNote team from Microsoft read that newsgroup. -- Chris H. | Re: OneNote demo Activation through a Proxy For the sake of closure, a reader on the OneNote group posted a response with a work-around that solved the problem. I assume this wasn't an intended design feature when they coded OneNote. from microsoft.public.onenote... "I ran into this and spent I good time on this issue and finally gave up. Then, I was playing around with the help from the Help drop down, and I noticed that the table of contents is dynamically built by accessing Microsoft's site. So, I clicked the "table of contents" link, then our proxy server asked for my username and password and then I got the table of contents. Then, I immediately tried to activate the product and it worked. Not so glamorous, but it worked. Hope this helps. lbarnes" "Chris H." <winxpnews********.com> wrote in message news:<#CGgdWDHEHA.324@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl>... > The OneNote newsgroup would be the best source for an answer, Dave. | Re: OneNote demo Activation through a Proxy Thanks for posting the workaround! Will surely help someone else when they hit the same wall.
