License/Registration Transfer

I have had the misfortune of having to sell my new Toshiba M205-S810. I have as yet been unable to find information on the process by which one informs Microsoft of a change of ownership. Is anyone familiar with this policy? I am basically looking for an address or phone number so that I may contact Microsoft to change their registration information.

Thanks,

There's nothing really for you to do, Nick. The OEM operating system is
tied to the machine that it is installed on. As long as you have
transferred the original media to the new owner and provided them with a
sales receipt, they're set.

Activation is required (pre-activated with some OEMs) and anonymous, so
there will be no barriers here. Windows XP registration is optional and not
tied to activation.

If there is warranty time left on the system, you may want to contact
Toshiba customer support to find out their requirements for transferring
that over to the new owner.
