acer C110 tablet pen not working

I own an Acer TravelMate C110 (Tablet XP) with service pack 2 installed.

A few months ago I lost the pen functionality and from memory it was after I
updated XP to service pack 2. (I contacted Acer support and reinstalled all
drivers provided with no result - I installed the wacom drivers from their
site

Essentially when the laptop initially starts up the pen works fine, until
the login screen appears then only the mouse will move the cursor. I tried
making a new profile with the same result. Other than the pen not functioning
the tablet works well.

I found the following article on the microsoft support site describing the
problem exactly:

I installed SP2 with no result, any ideas?

Hey Mark-

I think the article is referring to XP SP3? I dunno, At any rate follow the
link under "hotfix information" of the support article and send email to
microsoft support and give them the KB article number and they should be
able to point you to the download. Not certain why the patch is not public
in the first place.
