How to synchronize?

Hello everybody!

I'm wondering what the recommended synchronisation for a Tablet PC technique is. So far, I've seen three approaches:

- Offline-Files (using the filesystem to synchronize)
- ActiveSync (as used by the Pocket PC)
- ISV-Tools

Hoes anbody experience how these approaches do compare to each other? Right now, I'm inclined to go for the ActiveSync-approach, because we could "plug-in" our own reconciliation-procedure.

Any other opinions?

Re: How to synchronize?

Hi, Jens.

It's somewhat hard to answer your question without knowing more about what
you are trying to synchronize and under which circumstances.

For me, I like to be able to synchronize my files such that I can tkae them
with me, modify them, and then synchronize when I return. I also like to be
able to backup other files that I keep only on my Tablet. For this
functionality, I use a program called SmartBackup. You can set up scheduled
backups or create shortcuts that execute a given type of
backup/synchronization. For this, it works really well and is easy to use
and only costs $30.

You can find out more at:

Hope this helps.
