| Operating System Not Found I have been wrestling with this error message for weeks, and every once in a while I don't get it and can start my Compaq TC1000 tablet. Any help would be appreciated. |

| RE: Operating System Not Found It sounds like you might have a flaky master boot record. The Operating System Not found error will occur when the boot routine can't find necessary files in the proper partition on your hard drive. If its working sporatically, your MBR might be returning the wrong data. Partition Magic might be able to help determine if your MBR is not working right. Gil |

| Re: Operating System Not Found Hi, I'd suggest contacting HP about a replacement hard disk. Also I'd back up your data to another PC once you swap the drive. When you call HP they will probably have you perform some testing of the hard drive which will confirm whether it's having a problem or not. -- Chris De Herrera http://www.cewindows.net http://www.tabletpctalk.com "Len Edgerly" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:cd5e01c40a0d$c2f05740$a501280a@phx.gbl... > I have been wrestling with this error message for weeks, > and every once in a while I don't get it and can start my > Compaq TC1000 tablet. | RE: Operating System Not Found On my EZ Tablet it was simple: after installing XP Tablet PC the BIOS didn't see the HDD anymore, but just the USB-CD I was booting from. After adjusting the BIOS (primary master = Auto (=>HDD)) XP booted from the HDD. Frank |

| Re: Operating System Not Found I agree with Chris. Everytime I have ever seen this happen it was because a hard drive had gone out or was about to go out. Back up your data now. | RE: Operating System Not Found Frank, could you possibly walk me through how to adjust the BIOS to the settings you mentioned (primary master = Auto (=>HDD)) ? I have a feeling this will solve my problem.
