| Re: How to boot Toshiba Portege M200 from CD/DVD Hello, I don't know if I need to start a new thread as it relates to what has been discussed here. I have a Toshiba Portege 3480 and a Sony pcga-cd51 CD-Rom drive, and want to put XP on this machine, but I can't find a way to get the machine to recognise the CD-Rom under a DOS Boot Floppy. Can someone out there help as I have to get this completed by the weekend as a favor to a friend. -- Morituri ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Morituri's Profile: http://www.mobileminds.com/member.ph...fo&userid=2149 View this thread: http://www.mobileminds.com/showthread.php?threadid=8287 |

| Re: How to boot Toshiba Portege M200 from CD/DVD The Toshiba BIOS is a little different here. You should be able to boot from your CD/DVD drive on an M200 by holding down the F12 key while switching the tablet PC on. You can then use the cursor keys to select the boot device - had to look this up in the manual myself first time I needed this! -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. | Re: How to boot Toshiba Portege M200 from CD/DVD Is the M200 more forgiving than the 3500? 3500 has the same options, but it won't boot from the CD/DVD unless it's the PCMCIA version. Though a couple people have mentioned that a couple other ones worked for them (one model of a sony and a lite-on model) for USB, but nobody else ever duplicated it. I'm ready to pick up another tablet, have a company who wants to pay me a good chunk to do some work on their network. So the first thing to come out of that is a tablet, once I decide which one. I think it ships with a Toshiba usb cdrom drive which is bootable by hitting U key upon boot. You should of course verify this before purchasing one. I have a 3500 and instead of purchasing a pc card bootable cdrom, I use my backpack cdrom drive with a pccard and cable I already have. Good luck! > > > > On Wed, 31 Mar 2004 10:48:45 +0100, "Nick Lennox [MSFT]" > <nlennox@online.microsoft.com> wrote: > >> The Toshiba BIOS is a little different here.
