| Motion 1300 experience and M200 - help??? If somebody can help me deciding that'd be great... I am stuck with toshiba m200 vs. motion 1300... Main reason why I am not big fan of M200 is that I saw screen on 3500 and whoever gives it passing mark is blind; compared to i.e. Compaq T1000 screen, it's ugly, I am not talking resolution-wise but overall brightness, smoothness, etc ec... Anyway, can someone (respective owners) actually verify/compare screens on these 2 models, please? I am interested in overall brightness and sharpness of the screen, not just resolution... I am leaning to Motion due to Toshiba's know sh... attitude toward high-end customers (i.e. you can read here in the newsgroup answer for booting issue with m200 - "buy our docking station")... So in short, I think, short of toshiba pulling some miracle and fixing that booting issue and apologise on the way to the customers wanting to pay ~3000$ for single unit that Motion is way to go but I just cannot find single one unit (in Otawa, Canada) to see and feel it... Also, can anyone comment on tech support in Canada; I went on MotionGuard web site for quote and although there is Ontario, Canada in popup option for extra coverage etc. when you try to submit to get quote it pops up window to say that "policy is not available at this time"... If that is the case then toshiba could win because I can buy it in local FutureShop with 3 year all-inclusive warranty... What to do, what to do... thank you for any input and help provided, binarg |

| Re: Motion 1300 experience and M200 - help??? The M200 has a much better screen and video card then the 3500. The 1400x1050 resolution is quite impressive although some people may find it a bit hard to read the small fonts. As for the booting issue someone did say they could boot using the M205 and the USB DVD drive that comes with the system. I am trying to track down someone at Toshiba who can verify or deny that. -- Gary A. | RE: Motion 1300 experience and M200 - help??? Can't adress Toshiba or warranty, but as to screen on M1300-I like. I have had my m1300 for 6 months I use it in the field as a residential building contractor. The screen is bright and clear. I am going to spring for a new one soon and get the out door screen as I am in the bright sun a lot. My wife will take over my current m1300 as she really enjoys using it in the office wirelessly and the pen input. I never use the key board as pen input does all I need. I don't really need the outdoor screen, but it is an excuse to buy another tablet so we can both be using one. The screen is the right size and easy to carry and use as I walk around my construction site and use onenote to keep records on each project. I debated the various tablets for a long time, but now that I have the m1300 I know I made the right choice for myself. Motion only make a tablet and no convertibles. Their attitude seems to be focus on the one product and make it good. Good luck with your new tablet. PS check out Tabletpcbuzz for insider input on all models-you will find strong support for each model availible. |
