| Getting Windows XP libraries I have a question regarding handwriting recognition using a third party product and OneNote 2003 on a notebook computer NOT a Tablet. I use an Addesso CyberPad to take notes during meetings, lectures, hearings, etc. When I get back to the office I download the notes to my notebook computer via a USB connection. I convert the ink notes to text using MyScript handwriting recognition software. I would like to use OneNote to convert the notes to text and also be able to search the text notes. There is a third party software (BlueEuclid CyberConverter) that will export the handwritten notes to ON. This is reasonable priced, so that is not a problem. The problem is BlueEuclid says in their material, "If you are planning on using the handwriting to text conversion abilities in OneNote, you should know that Windows XP does not typicall ship with the libraries needed for this. These must be downloaded and configured separtely." My question is: Where can I find these libraries and information on downloading and configuring them. Does anyone out there have any experience using CyberPad, BlueEuclid CyberConverter and ON? Thanks, mrMagic |

| Re: Getting Windows XP libraries First, the cavaet... I have not yet installed 2007, but had the same wish for on2003 with respect to converting pocketpc ink notes files. I have heard that on2007 now has that capability, so, that might be an option for you... at least to find someone who has it and send them a file.... following from http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/on...325701033.aspx "Text recognition in pictures OneNote can recognize text contained in images that you inserted in your notes. When you search your notebook for names of people and places, OneNote displays images that contain the text (for example, a scanned business card) in the search results list." At the present I am interested in OneNote 2003 I am not interested in ON 2007. Can you be reply specific to ON 2003? Second I mentioned a third party software that would export files into ON 2003 ink. You over looked that fact. I also asked about the Windows XP libraries for handwriting recongition. You did not address that issue. If you do not have an answer, you should not offer an opinion, with or without a caveat. Thanks anyway, mrMagic |

If you have OneNote on a tablet PC there is nothing additional to install in order to interpret handwriting - it even works in Journal without OneNote. It might be possible to acheive what you are after by using the Tablet SDK, but as it is I cannot say for certain. You can find it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en After reading your other responses in this thread let me say this: This is a response to the above statement, which I feel is misleading your questions. I am not answering your question directly, which according to this may be an incorrect line of thought. Bear in mind that people read these newsgroups for information, and the paragraph above could mislead them as well. That is, if you don't like the response please just live with it or ignore it, as you see fit. Vaya con Dios. |

| Re: Getting Windows XP libraries my sincere apologies that the time and effort I expended to offer a solution gave you pain and suffering... I suggest you set a filter on my email address, since, in the forum context, the response may still be of value to others. It is my hope that others do not treat you as poorly as you treat those around you. hope you have a better day Beverly Howard [MS MVP-Mobile Devices] |
