you have to install additional recognizer language packs (any language) and it will solve the problem. :)

It appears to be a problem wider than just Russian.. I have a Toshiba
3500 (recent purchase) which has, correctly, a UK 'real' keyboard and
drivers. But the virtual keyboard, in the tablet mode, is a US layout.
This would only be mildly inconvenient, except that the key to the right
for | and \ does not work at all - leaving me with no way to say type a
full path\filename into the Start - Run box, edit a shortcut property to
change 'starts in'. Can of course go back to 'laptop' mode, but that
defeats the object
