| WinXP tablet pc installed harddisk run from normal pc? Hi, Anyone know is it possible a WinXP tablet pc installed harddisk run from normal pc. I already tried it but can't boot up. The reason i want to that is, I want to back-up the file in the harddisk(with tablet pc installed) to another media. Or anyone have better suggestion so that i can back-up my harddisk. I using Acer TM100 only have external CD-Rom drive and USB port. Thanks in advance. jet |

| Re: WinXP tablet pc installed harddisk run from normal pc? I would doubt it would work. Could you copy the files via the network, infra-red, USB key, or some other means? If you want to back up the entire drive you may want to check into getting a USB CD burner. -- Gary A. | Re: WinXP tablet pc installed harddisk run from normal pc? Why do you need to boot from the TPC HDD to do this? Since you already tried booting from it, I assume you've solved the problem of getting the 2.5" HDD connected to your PC through an IDE converter or through a USB enclosure. Just mount the TPC HDD on your desktop PC while booting from your regular desktop boot drive. Then backup to your hearts content. Otherwise, you could buy a USB HDD and backup to that. Maxtor makes one and there are plenty of others. They are designed just for such use, even have a "backup button" on them to initiate the backup.
