Using xp home. The following also happens in other programs not just Excel.
Could an update be the problem? if so how do I delete updates without causing other problems?
If I try to open a saved workbook in Excel 2003 hangs, I
have to try to close excel by clicking the X. Then a box
pops up and says "This program is not rsponding end now".
When I do close it an error report comes up and says,

szappname: excel.exe szappver: 11.0.5612.0
szmodname: hungapp szmodver: 0.0.0.0 offset: 00000000.

It also says report to microsoft and wants to sent the
following file, which I can not find:-

c:\docume~1\me\locals~1\temp\wer2.tmp.dir00\excel. exe.mdmp
c:\docume~1\me\locals~1\temp\wer2.tmp.dir00\appcom pat.txt

Any ideas??
