edit powerpoint by adding text, not handwriting?

Can I use the tablet feature to work on my powerpoint, ie, annotate text with more text (without going to keyboard mode)?

How about the same thing in Word?

If not, is there a software version coming out in the future that will help me?

Thanks a bunch!

"Annotate" means a number of different things to different people. What are
you looking for precisely? What would you expect to see in your documents?

RE: edit powerpoint by adding text, not handwriting?

What I'd like to do is edit documents in Word (adding text, rearranging paragraphs, formatting, etc) as well as the same thing in Powerpoint - editing & adding text and slides that converts to type. The major revisions I'll do on the keyboard, but I'd like to be able to update a presentation or a contract while on the road without having to use the keyboard.

Is that now, or will that in the near future be possible?

Thank you VERY much!

I don't remember how it acted previously, but I believe you'll be pleased
with the Tablet PC functionality coming with the free 2004 version of the
superset around mid-year. The new Tablet Input Panel is vastly improved.

The answer is yes, you can do it now. You would use the Tablet (or is
that Text) Input Panel (aka TIP). You handwrite in the panel and it
converts it to text and sends the text directly to whatever program you
are working in just as if you had typed it on a keyboard.
