| tabtip.exe Hi ! Theres is an icon in the tray area : Tablet and Pen Settings which is great, but after I had sat up my system, I never touched it again. SO : - Could you help me, how can I get rid of the icon with a switch or something ? (I do not want to switch off the application in the background, only the icon but not with the XP hide icon feature as I hate that.) BIG thank you in advance, Moore |

| Re: tabtip.exe In article <5FCDE9B5-D9B3-497B-8502-E578D67614D3@microsoft.com>, anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com says... To stop the TIP from launching on boot, go to a command prompt and unregister the dll: > regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\ink\tipband.dll" The next time the machine is started, the TipBand shouldn't show up. After you do this, of course, the only way you'll be able to get the Tablet PC Input Panel to show up is with the hardware button or with the shake gesture. So do this at your own risk... To restore the TIP, the command is: > regsvr32 "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\ink\tipband.dll> Hi ! > Theres is an icon in the tray area : Tablet and Pen Settings which is great, but after I had sat up my system, I never touched it again. | Re: tabtip.exe If you want to get rid of an item on the system tray (notification area) right-click on an empty area of the taskbar and then choose proporties. Click the Taskbar tab at the top of the dialog window and be sure that "hide inactive icons" is checked at the bottom of the window. Next click "customize" and find the Tablet and Pen settings icon in the list. Choose always hide if you never want it to appear again, or just leave it alone and it will autohide once you haven't used it for a while. Incidently, if your tablet has a function button, you can get the tablet and pen settings dialog quickly by pressing the function key twice. On Mon, 23 Feb 2004 13:09:42 -0800, "D.
