| Acer c110 - system disks aren't loading on boot I'm following the instructions to the letter, and my factory CD drive isn't recognizing the disks that came with my Acer c110 Travelmate. It won't boot to them. When I plug in a seperate USB cd-rom an put the system disk in, it boots up to dos, gives a bunch of error messages and none of the .exe or .bat files in the disk do anything of consequence...mostly errors when you run them. I've tried the eRecovery stuff by pressing alt+f10 when the system is at bios splash screen. It doesn't do anything either, continues into windows. Any ideas? |

| Re: Acer c110 - system disks aren't loading on boot Do you have the BIOS set for first boot attempt off the CD? If you're following the instructions, perhaps something is wrong with the unit. I'd suggest you contact Acer Support and have them guide you through the process so they might be able to determine what is happening. You might be missing a step, or perhaps the media isn't correct. -- Chris H. Acer has suggested to me a voodoo ceremony of: first plug in the power, then plug in the connector. OR conversely, connect the drive and then power on. OR put the CD in and then try either of the above. If you have access to another Acer drive, you might try that. I DO know that you must use their drive for the recovery. mare |
