| Issues installing/deploying tablet pc I'm having issues installing/deploying tablet pc from various media. I started with the MSDN VOL DVD (tablet pc 2005 sp2 volume license edition), created a bootable CD (rather, several), and have tried RIS also. No matter what I do, it exhibits similar problems, but with no discernable pattern. The final installation seems to have most or all of the following issues: no windows program defaults (I have to go to start/set program access defaults) windows update does not work (the site keeps downloading/installing/registering something it says it needs, but it never takes) WMP10 sometimes does not work (if I deploy from RIS, it usually says it's missing an xml file) group policy does not update drivers folder (under $OEM$ in the appropriate location for the deployment method) is not copied OEM drivers are not installed (even when the folder is copied) RIS asks for a whole lot of files in textmode I'm about at my wits end here. Can't figure this one out for the life of me. Is there something obvious I'm missing? Except for copying the components folder and using a tablet pc vlk, I made these install sources just like any other windows xp deploy point. |
