| can i use tabletpc in access with the pen to enter data? Hi, I have Access 2002 on xp pro running. Is there anyway i can get my access program to run on the tablet pc operating system, and also use the pen to write data into the access fields ? maybe even convert the handwriting into standard fonts somehow ? I am in sales and want to travel to customers on the fly and when i interview them i want to write in the data, such as name, and what they need, and other data such as the phone numbers etc into the different fields in access that i have set up., but the catch is that i don't want to have to type this up since i will be standing while i interview the different customers, kind of like a survey. right now i use a clipboard to take down the info, will it work in access somehow and will it be cumbersome ? Thanks. |

| Re: can i use tabletpc in access with the pen to enter data? Sure. Access and the other Office family programs run just fine on the Tablet PCs because they run Windows XP Pro as the operating system with the Tablet superset on top. As for direct entry in Access, no, but you can utilize the Tablet PC Input Panel for entry, or convert your handwriting via the Write Anywhere feature in the TIP. | Re: can i use tabletpc in access with the pen to enter data? Hi, There must be some easier way, maybe microsoft should somehow develop a way that the input panel can be broken down in several parts that work in parallel thus allowing the possibility for me to design an access database with field windows on a form whereby a user can simply write into the forms. Opensource is the key. I tried the tablet pc today at the store, it was a bit too slow taking atleast 2 seconds to recognize a sentence and convert it to fonts. If I convert my write anywhere into a standard font then can i quickly send this data to the fields in access ?
