Ok ok. For RTM I thought I'd try leaving UAC on.
Forget it! After what, 4-5 days I finally did myself a favor and TURNED
IT OFF!
Go irritate someone else please!

Re: Installing Java in RTM Requires UAC Elevation, Just FYI.

Before RC2, I always turned UAC off. Now I keep it on. It isn't that bad
after you get your computer all setup. I only get about 15 prompts a day...

Haha, I think I might have made up that number. But my point is that I have
become used to the prompts.

Re: Installing Java in RTM Requires UAC Elevation, Just FYI.

What I do is, I create a shortcut to CMD, change the props of the shortcut
so it always asks for ADMIN, change the background colour to red so i know
its admin.

then.... I just 'do' my admin tasks from this shell.

Once powershell comes out, I will be making myself use this, as overtime it
will mean I can get my 'stuff' done quicker.

No problem at all.

I've had it running now for a couple of days with no issues.

Now Adobe Flash is a whole other evil can of worms. I hate it very much...
