| Syncing Mobile Phones with Outlook in Vista So I have Vista RTM and Office 2007 RTM installed and now I want to sync my Windows Mobile 5 phone with Outlook. I don't see a way to do that in the Sync Center. I used to be able to do it in RC versions of Vista. What am I missing? Thanks Darren |

| Re: Syncing Mobile Phones with Outlook in Vista It's automatically installed here. All you have to do is connect your mobile device to your computer and the Windows Mobile Device Center will be automatically installed via Windows Update. | Re: Syncing Mobile Phones with Outlook in Vista Ok. I started using this and I'm getting sync errors. The message is, "View status%ActiveSync encountered a problem on the desktop." I'm using Office 2007--does it work with that? thanks Darren "Paul Smith" <Paul@nospam.windowsresource.net> wrote in message news:6ED81D2C-C417-4803-852F-275B282943B5@microsoft.com... > "Darren Mar-Elia" <dmanonymous@microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:52CF1796-96D1-494A-BEC1-8F06FD63A4CE@microsoft.com... >> So I have Vista RTM and Office 2007 RTM installed and now I want to sync >> my Windows Mobile 5 phone with Outlook. | RE: Syncing Mobile Phones with Outlook in Vista To tell you the truth, I am confused! RTM, RC1 or RC2, the story has to be completely different I hope. RC1 and RC2 needs to download the beta3 sync center thing, fine – but in RTM it seems that the finale version of sync center shipped along, or did it? I have major problems getting RTM sync center to find my qtek8020. It connects but it does not appear in the “setup new partnership section. So how to sync your mobile device with Outlook on a Windows Vista RTM??? Regards. | RE: Syncing Mobile Phones with Outlook in Vista OK – I finally decided to downgrade the WMDC from RTM to Beta3 and guess what, everything suddenly started to work; my phone got connected and started syncing. That’s nice, but cum on guys should this really be necessary? Regards KjeldT "KjeldT" wrote: > To tell you the truth, I am confused! | Re: Syncing Mobile Phones with Outlook in Vista I just flashed my phone with a ROM Upgrade from HTC. This (obviously) blew away all my configurations. When I tried to reconnect to Vista it worked EXACTLY as it should have. The WMDC poped up and asked about the phone and partnership details. Have you made sure you have the latest ROM? -- Matthew McDermott Principal Consultant Catapult Systems, Inc.
