Vista giving out copies?

I tested during the Beta 2, pre RC1 & RC1, but where is my email from
Microsoft?

I am not an "official" Technet Beta tester either.

That's why you wont get anything like most of us.

Techbeta is limited and it's up to Msft who is selected to participate.

CPP is for everyone. If they would give vista to cpp free.. well imagine the
sum.

Re: Vista giving out copies?

It should include CPP members who submitted bug reports because they
*contributed* to the success of Vista.

Re: Vista giving out copies?

"only currently active" ... well that would exclude Kevin Panzke if his
claims of leaving the Beta are true.

Why not at the minimum HomeBasic for reported bugs from CPP ?

First : those who never reported should expect nothing, that's for sure.

MS is going to start a First Class and Second Class Beta - Customer War-

It should not be too hard too figure out the e-mail adresses of CPP users
that submitted bugs via the "Howto file a Bug" - tool that every vista
version had an link to on the desktop.

I would say that maximum 10 out of 100 CPP useres ever made use of that, and
did really report a bug, but at least those sgould be honoured the same way
as the Closed Beta people that simply had the luck to be chosen from the
beginning.

If it comes to the loss of $$ - nobody is expecting the high-priced version,
it would be as nice even if you would give away Keys for the HomeEditons of
Vista.

I am totally diassapointed.

I would not be, if Techbeta and CPP would be treated same.

There are even people that have paid for Beta2 or RC1 PLUS going to
beta-reporting to you,MSFT.

Re: Vista giving out copies?

Well, you have to be a MS Connect Beta Test, in the Windows Vista, Internet
Explorer 7, and Longhorn Server beta. This is a closed program with
approximately 30,000 testers worldwide.

You would have to receive an invitation to get into the program, but not to
be a Connect tester...

Re: Vista giving out copies?

Yes, there are 30,000 tech beta testers worldwide, some of those may have
never send in a bug report, so 20,000 people might be a reasonable number.
In any case, that doesn't include the millions of downloads from the CPP.
