| Re: Wireless connection in windows vista ultimate Hi jamieslaptop, I own a D-Link DWL-G520 Wireless Network Adapter Card. Vista installed the Drivers for the Atheros in place of the D-Link Drivers. I had to point Vista to look at the folder that contains the drivers for the card on my XP partition. Only the drivers can be installed, not D-Link's Wireless Network Manager Software. You need to not worry about how many Wireless Networks are available, but just connect to your own, instead. -- thecreator "jamieslaptop" <jamieslaptop@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:17679076-A600-437E-B6BA-EF7A3463F079@microsoft.com... > hiya, im one of the unlucky few to own a dlink dwlg510 and its working > fine > in windows xp, however in the vista rc2 its showing all available networks > in > the connect to box but at the side it says "the capability of your network > adapter does not meet the requirements of this network" > > is there a way to solve this and connect succesfuly with this card or > would > it be better to buy a compatible wifi card? if so which one? > am i the only one that is having this problem? > > many thanks |

| Re: Wireless connection in windows vista ultimate hiya, ive tried all sorts of different drivers and they are all the same, even on a clean install. i cant understand it, the chipset of the card is actuall marvell, and even the drivers they provide dont work. it does connect ok in ad hoc mode, but like i say the message saying it doesnt meet the requirements of the network is really annoying. | Re: Wireless connection in windows vista ultimate Hi jamieslaptop and dayeliu, I own a D-Link DWL-G520 Wireless Card. I just did a Clean reinstall of Windows Vista Ultimate RC2. The Drivers for this card for Vista hasn't been written, yet. But I installed the D-Link Drivers from Windows XP installation. Coupled with using Network Magic program and its Wireless Network Manager (Beta), I am not having any problems whatsoever, that you are seeing. I only installed the Drivers for the Card, not D-Link's Wireless Network Manager, which causes problems in Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2. (Blue Screen of Death). I pointed Vista to the unpacked Drivers of XP and Vista installed the D-Link Drivers.
