| "Browse Window"/Places Bar Feature First let me say that I would much prefer this feature to be added into XP as well as Vista, as I do not believe that I will be able to afford Vista for sometime. The Places Bar that shows up on the left side of the browse window it a good idea, but it would be much better if each program individually populated it, or progressivelly removed the default buttons, replacing them with the most recent , or most common locations the application has interacted with, although it would be nice if there were also an option to lock one or two of the default buttons. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. I'm not sure if Vista even has Places Bar. In common open/save dialogs It uses 'Favorite Links' folder instead which you can customize by simply adding/deleting shortcuts. Actually, in XP you can customize Places Bar. Not per app though, just per user. You can do this with TweakUI Power Toy or using methods described on following pages: http://www.auxtools.com/placesbar.html http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826214 -- Alexander Suhovey |

| Previous Versions info please I would like to know what is the criteria is for a file or folder being automatically backed-up and when is it backed-up? I know you can turn Previous Versions on or off by disabling Automatic Restore Points for a given volume in system properties, but doesn't that disable System Restore as well? I work with large video files frequently and I don't want to waste 500+ megs of space on shadow copies of those files. Is my only option to create a seperate partition and turn restore off for that drive? Also, is the following a bug in RC2? I installed RC2 using Virtual PC 2007 beta. I have two virtual hard drives, but the available disks in System Protection only show Drive C. The other virtual drive is formatted, has a drive letter and does contain files. Why doesn't the other virtual drive show up? |
