Hi,

5744 is the last build released to the public and to beta testers. You can
possibly find an illegally distributed build higher on some file sharing
venues, but beware that code in them may have been altered.

Be warned. If you do find and download 5840. It is a RTM build and you need
an RTM key to activate it. There are no RTM keys, which means you can only
use it for 30 days before it stops working.

Build 5840 is not an "RTM build" it was just another internal interim
build.
But you are correct that you will require the appropriate key type for
builds post the RC2 public release.

None of which make it as you put it an "RTM build".
It is just a later none time bombed build that required a different
key set.
The RTM build of a product is a specific thing and the term should not
be applied to anything but that specific released to manufacture
build.

I'm a newbie to Beta testing for Windows. I've seen a lot of people referring
to RTM. What exactly does that mean?
Will RC2 5744 be the last release to the general public for testing? If so
what is the best way to uninstall it?
I have installed on a spare drive that I have installed on my tower.

These have been addressed elsewhere.
But to clarify for you

RTM - Release To Manufacture - this will be the build that when final
testing internally within Microsoft has occurred and all of the
required signatory teams have signed off on that build it is sent to
the pressing plants to be massed produced as the final build that will
be sold etc.
Yes RC2 5744 is the last build made available for public testing
Best way to uninstall it - just reformat the drive.
