What's this got to do with Vista? Nothing. Personally, I don't want an
Xbox360, it's last years technology. Happy to wait for PS3. Can I post
PS3 links and service info in the Vista newsgroup???

Last years technology my ass. Sony is late with last and this years
technology. The XBOX 360 is by far the best gaming console on the market.

Sony needs to get their act together and pray their PS3 works.

Whlst I hate to continue an off-topic thread, I have to point out the lack
of HD storage for games on the XBox360. I hope your going to enjoy those
lo-fi textures for the next 5 years.. Microsoft decided they would rather
cash-in last Xmas that give the console the HD storage it needed to be
truly next generation... They also split their userbase by only including
a HDD in the Premium console, making it a near useless feature, as games
have to cater for the core..

Re: XBOX 360 Live Service Outage Today.

Having HDD or not makes no difference. The XBOX 360 is the best console on
the market to date. It's that simple.

Also, it sounds like you've never played the XBOX 360 on XBOX Live.

Do me a favor... find an XBOX 360, Call of Duty 2, plugged into a 42"+ HD
Television with 5.1 surround sound and tell me what you really think. For
those of us that have, it's a pretty phuckin' awesome experience!
Especially, when you are playing Team Deathmatch from people in Britain,
Canada, Australia, etc.... talking smack with no game lag.

Re: XBOX 360 Live Service Outage Today.

I will have to agree with you, Yoshi- XBOX 360 is great.

I had never been a big gamer, and still don't have the
time to play often. However, I decided to buy a 360-
wow. I also have it plugged into a 42'' HDTV, mere
words can not describe the experience. The first time
I played "Call of Duty", it was like having a religious
experience. :-)

Sony has not and will not have anything close to matching
the tremendous success of XBOX Live, either. It works
and it works well.

I'm an old guy, too. I actually thought that buying a 360
might be a waste of money. I didn't have the original XBOX,
I did have a Playstation 2. I figured I must just be getting
old when I never did buy the original XBOX. Really, I wasn't
expecting much from the 360 or that I'd play many games.
Even started thinking about which nephew I was going to give it
to once I got bored with it. Of course, this was all before I had
even played a game, yet. I've still got it, and plan to keep it.
It's a great diversion for those stressful days.

Poor, Sony- they've postponed the next PlayStation almost
as often as Vista was postponed.

Erm, it's the ONLY console of the next-gen on the market to date, so
that's not very hard...

[color=blue]

I have actually. My neibour has one connected to his 32n HD plasma,
whilst it wasn't Call of Duty2 he showed me, I was Project Gotham 2, and a
first person shooter, which I easily forget which one, I was very
underwhelmed by the slightly better than XBox graphics..[color=blue]

I still feel it's alot of money for a console that will be old news next
year. It can't have games on HD-DVD, and is stuck with low-def textures
to fit on a DVD9. Even the 1080 content is upscaled from 720p
apparently. I prefer Sony's decision to do the right thing for gamers and
launch when ready, not the right thing for MS shareholders by cutting
features and specs and launching for last Xmas....

By the way, Blue Ray is another Sony tech going down the drain.

Sorry to rain on your party, but Blu-Ray is not a Sony Tech. It's backed
by virtually everyone out there. (Infact, the only 3 companies not
supporting Blu-Ray are Toshiba, Microsoft and Universal, everyone else is
Blu-Ray).

For Starters:

Apple
Dell
HP
Hitachi
LG
Mitsubishi Electric
Panasonic
Pioneer
Philips
Samsung
Sharp
Sony
Sun Microsystems
TDK
Thomson
Twentieth Century Fox
Walt Disney
Warner Bros.

The Full list is here:

Anyone that thinks Blu-Ray is a Sony only format is talking out their poop
hole.

It is my understanding that Sony invented blu-ray, right?
