It is not disabled. It is a bug and it has made it into the next build drop.
Please stop spreading false information.

Strange, it's working for 5728 x64, but not for 5728 x86.

I'm running 5728 x64 and it is NOT working.

I'm getting error code 8024400A on attemtping to update.

Same here... not working on PC's that it worked on... hmmm... this PC has
received 6 updates since I installed 5728, the latest was on 10/4, two days
ago. Now I'm getting the 8024400A error. Also on one other PC running 5728.
Will have to check the other two PC's running 5728 tomorrow... don't feel
like unplugging this one right now... ;-D

Not working here in 5728 x64. Error Code 8024400A. Last successful update
10/4/2006 at 10:40am.

I assume MS if mucking around with update and this will resolve itself or be
fixed in RC2 as someone else suggested.

It's a known bug that is fixed in newer builds (builds that are not
publicly available).
