Installing Visual Studio 6

Hello,

I am getting the error iviewers.dll was unable to register itself in the
system registry when trying to install Visual Studio 6. I thought this may
had been a UAC issue, so I logged into the Administrator account, but had the
same problems.

I am not able to install Visual Studio 6 (setup failed).

Re: Installing Visual Studio 6

I wonder if the "free" Visual Studio 2005 "express" versions are any worse
than Visual Studio 6? I think Visual Studio 6 came out when I was in
college, and I graduated in 1996, we're talking some 10 years later now so
it seems silly not to have upgraded.

Re: Installing Visual Studio 6

Rob,

I agree that I prefer Visual Studio 2005 and except for some painting issues
in Vista, VS2005 works great for me. But since I work for an ISV that still
needs to support Visual Studio 6 for our ActiveX controls, I need to install
VS6 on Vista. According to what I have heard, in the current build of Vista,
Visual Studio 6 is the only supported IDE.
