| Vista suddenly become slow to start. I have two copies of Vista on my PC, the 2nd copy was a clone of the first and I use it for testing. The first copy boots in about 40 seconds, measured from the end of the POST to the display of three Web pages in the Windows startup folder. The second copy originally behaved like the first, but now takes 2min 30sec. The screen Icons appear after 90 seconds and it takes a further 60 seconds before the Web pages suddenly appear. Why might the 2nd version be taking so long? I've used msconfig to stop many things from starting, but this has made no difference. I've also back out all the Vista software updates received in April. -- Michael Chare |

| RE: Vista suddenly become slow to start. Sorry to hear your concern dude, but its lucky its not tape load up...5 minute wait and then crash. Or old 5 disk loadup then crash on 3rd disc. Ah the days... not quite sure why you need two copies of vista on 1 system, it is afterall just an OS...so 1st will be the same as 2nd.? Save your space and install just one copy...? Dual boot with XP till confident of OS capabilities, but to dual boot with two vistas at the same time doesnt make much sense.
