Can I move Office XP from old XP computer to new Vista computer?

I am planning to replace my existing computer which runs WindowsXP Home
Edition and buy a new computer that runs Windows Vista Home Premium. On my
existing computer I have Microsoft Office XP Standard (Version 2002). One
of my questions is whether my Office XP can be moved to the Windows Vista
computer; e.g. by uninstalling from my old computer and reinstalling on the
new computer. Does anyone know whether this is possible? And, if not, do I
have to outright buy the new Office 2007 for Vista?

FYI, my Office XP is a standalone version that I bought retail (not
preinstalled on the old computer) and I have the original Office XP disc.

Thanks.

Yes, simply uninstall and reinstall on the new computer. This will comply
with the licensing terms. Outlook 2002 has a minor problem on Vista though
saving passwords.

Another option would be a free download of OpenOffice.org. It will read
and write all the proprietary MS and WP formats and works pretty much the
same way.

Re: Can I move Office XP from old XP computer to new Vista compute

Hi

I tried installing Office XP on Vista and it took ages to install and IMAP
e-mail did not work. Send and receive did nothing (Using AOL!). Took Office
XP off again after that. Used Windows Mail with IMAP and e-mail flew through.

Take my advice and upgrade Office to 2003 at least.
