How to TRANSFER Outlook Express ettings and file into Windows Mail

I don't understand why Microsoft has not provided an easy to use program for
all of us beginner and intermediate users to transfer the OE files to Windows
Mail??? What is one supposed to do?? I do not feel comfortable with some of
the methods suggested elsewhee on the internet. Is there someone at all who
can suggest a step-by-step- way of transferring files. I could not believe
that this has turned out to be such a big problem. By the way, I have two
hard drives on my computer. Drive C, the nee one, with Windows Vista
installed on it, and old hard drive on which all my OE files sit. HELP!

Use the import tool in Windows mail & point it towards the OE files, it will
import all of your emails.

Actually, it won't. I've tried. Fortunately, Thunderbird has no
trouble importing OE files.

I've used WM to import emails from a dir containing OE files backed up on a
flash drive.
Can't explain why it didn't work for you.

But I prefer to backup email via drag & drop to dirs with the files saved as
eml files.
That way lots of email apps wil let you drag & drop them across.
