Re: Windows Vista support .NET?

All of them will support the .NET (assuming Visual Studio .NET). Using
VS.NET 2005 on Ultimate right now.

They just include different features, i.e. the Home versions don't support
domains, etc.

AFAIK, the .NET Framework v2.0 (or is it 3.0?) is automatically installed as
part of all Vista editions. It's possible the Starter edition is an
exception, but I'm sure somebody else will know that.

Re: Windows Vista support .NET?

Not out of the box, you have to install Service Pack 1 for VS 2005 to enable
compatibility with Vista.

Re: Windows Vista support .NET?

Windows Vista comes bundled with .NET 2.0 and 3.0, you have to enable it
though. Click Start > type Programs and Features > hit enter > click the
Turn On Windows Features link, you should see the option available.

Even then there's a few bugs. Nothing show stopping though.

Re: Windows Vista support .NET?

Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 is different from Visual Studio Service
Pack 1 Update for Vista.

Re: Windows Vista support .NET?

It does give an error on install, but it does work. I did install the SP1
soon after install, but it worked fine without it (very simple Windows
application, though, just a single menu option and 2 buttons to open
different files).

But, the update is there, so it works with no problems. And Windows Updates
finds the update when VS.Net is installed and downloads it automatically.
:-)
