Re: User Account Control

Sounds a compatibility issue, have you contacted Intuit about the problem
since they are the developers of the software?

Back up Quicken files.

Something to try, if the Quicken client involved in on your local PC...

Did you install it with UAC disabled? If so, reinstall it with UAC enabled.
Then RESTORE your data.

You didn't tell us what version of Quicken you have. Intuit has said
that nothing but the very latest version of Quicken is Vista-compatible.
I believe that is Quicken 2007.

However, I can tell you that Quicken 2006 will install and work if it is
installed in compatibility mode and as Administrator. I know this
because I did this on a client's machine the other day. We have UAC enabled.

So if you didn't install Quicken like that, try uninstalling it and then
reinstalling it in that fashion. Also, make sure that your data files
are somewhere that Quicken can write to - in your Documents folder is a
good place.

I can verify that an old version will work, if installed properly.
Here's it's the ancient verison 3, which has given me no problems when
first installed with UAC disabled...and later reinstalled with UAC enabled.
