Doucumentss Link Broken

I just had to redo my computer from an image created with True Image 10.
Before the replacement I have two partions, C:\ and D:\ I had moved the
Doucuments to the D:\ partition. When I redone the computer I only had a C:
Partion and are the image restoration finished the link on the start menu
does not work. When I right click it it only shows Copy, Rename and
Properties. All the feilds are blank. I have found no way to fix it. I know
there must be a way to get it back to normal. Please someboby help me. I
figure it must be set in the regisrty someplace.

Re: Doucumentss Link Broken

Hi Chuck,

You can fix the shell folder paths for Documents in this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ User Shell Folders

1. Click Start, type Regedit.exe and press ENTER
2. Navigate to the above location
3. Double-click "Personal"
4. Set its Value data to "%USERPROFILE%\Documents"
(Note: The value type should be type REG_EXPAND_SZ)
5. Close Regedit.exe
6. Logoff / login for the changes to take effect.

Default locations for various shell folders are available here:

Re: Doucumentss Link Broken

Alternately, you may use the REG file here:
http://www.winhelponline.com/fixes/reset_music_pictures_docs_path.reg

Download and save the file to Desktop.
Right-click on the file and choose Merge.

The shell folder paths for user's Documents/Music/Videos/Pictures should be reset to default values.
